FULL ARCH RESTORATION

This is what is commonly known as “teeth in a day” or “smile makeover”. This is a treatment where 2 or more implants are placed into your upper or lower jaw bone to replace an entire set of teeth, potentially in one day. These teeth can be either removable (comes in an out) or fixed (stays in your mouth).

What is full arch restoration?

Full-arch restoration, also called “teeth in a day” or “All-on-4”, is a treatment that involves replacing an entire arch of replacement teeth in your upper and/or lower jaw supported by as few as 4 dental implants. It is fixed (non-removable) and a fantastic long-lasting treatment with proper oral care. The entire surgical process can be completed in one visit, with the potential to have a brand-new set of teeth on the same day. This means you can have a new smile much more quickly than some other tooth replacement treatments.

Benefits of full-arch restoration?

This life-changing treatment can potentially give you a full mouth of natural looking, natural feeling, sturdy teeth supported by dental implants, all in one day, with minimal or no bone grafting necessary. This treatment is designed to make you feel whole again and give you confidence in life.

What is the full arch restoration treatment process?

This treatment involves the removal of all remaining teeth in your upper and/or lower jaw bone, reshaping the residual bone, placement of 4 or more dental implants , and (if possible) immediate fixation and loading of a temporary prosthesis (temporary set of full teeth) onto the dental implants. The final result is a full arch of natural looking teeth supported by dental implants, potentially all in one day.

The surgery and placement of the temporary prosthesis can typically be completed in a single day and will be performed in conjunction with your existing dentist and a dental lab. If you do not currently have an existing dentist, we will be able to provide you with a referral and coordinate care with one of our many trusted colleagues.

The implants will need several months of healing to fuse with your native jaw bone. Once this process is complete, your dentist will fabricate the final long term prosthesis to replace the temporary prosthesis that will allow you to function and renew the confidence in your smile for many years ahead.

What are the alternatives to full arch restoration?

Implant Overdentures

For those who cannot receive a fixed implant prosthesis or for those who cannot tolerate a conventional denture, implant overdentures are an excellent treatment option with very high patient satisfaction. These are full sets of natural looking teeth that are removable (can be taken in and out of your mouth), rather than fixed, but are clipped onto as few as 2 to 4 implants. This treatment has the added benefit of much greater stability and retention compared to conventional dentures with increased chewing ability. As an added benefit, this treatment is only a fraction of the cost of the conventional fixed full arch restoration.

If you are struggling with wearing an existing denture, ask our doctors about this excellent implant overdenture treatment option.
